What is Social Media Branding
The marketing phrase of the millennia has become Social Media Branding. Social media is about being social. The mood and tone of your company’s branding has to reflect current social standards. It is no longer about hard selling your products or services but rather to humanize your business to your audience.
Today, social media has become one of the primary methods the public searches for, and finds, information on just about everything. From where the best local restaurants are to what the best rated products to buy are. Keep in mind that these ratings are peer based organic ratings and referrals. Social media has come a long way from cat memes and baby photos.
Where does your business fit in?
When your business is seen throughout your social media marketing, potential clients are able to see who they will be working with. They get a glimpse into the people and processes, and they can imagine themselves being a part of that experience.
Social media branding is about giving your clients and potential clients an inside view of your company’s personality. Your business needs to connect with your audience and engage with them on a much deeper level than ever before. Instead of throwing facts, statistics, and testimonials at your audience, focus on making your brand thoughtful, memorable and real.
Building a following
When creating your brand message, think about what your audience needs from you, aside from a product or service. Consider the emotion you want to evoke in your audience every time they interact with your brand. Your audience may forget what you say, but they will not forget how you made them feel.
This is important because emotions drive purchase more than logic. Craft your stories with care in order to strike emotional chords with your audience. These stories can come from a variety of sources; a public relations event, celebrating an employee’s achievement, reaching a corporate milestone and more. Use these stories to start conversations or ask for some form of engagement.
Once your audience knows, trusts, and likes you, they will more likely buy from you. At the very least, you’ll have created relationships with people who will become advocates for years to come.
